2009-10 Traditions T
The Traditions T was established in 2007 as a means to unite the University of Kentucky student body in celebrating what it means to be a Wildcat. The Traditions T is sponsored by the UK Alumni Association and the Office of New Student & Parent Programs.
The Traditions T artwork is student-designed, and UK students vote each spring semester to determine the winning design. The student who creates the winning design will receive a $500 cash prize, two UK men's basketball student season tickets, and five shirts to give to friends or family (sizes not guaranteed). A new Traditions T will be unveiled each fall for that particular school year.

How do I get a shirt?
UK students and the general public are encouraged to purchase a Traditions T at the UK Bookstore, online, at UK home football games, or at home UK men's basketball games.
When am I supposed to wear the shirt?
Whenever you'd like, of course, but definitely at all UK athletic team home games. The goal of the Traditions T is to unite the student body at games.
Where do the proceeds go?
All net profit revenues go to the Office of New Student and Parent Programs to support K Week programming for the entire University community.
How do I submit a design and what are the requirements?
Requirements for the design of the Traditions T include:
- Designs will be accepted from currently enrolled UK undergraduate or graduate students. Designs may be submitted by students graduating in 2009. However, the winning designer must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at UK during the 2009-2010 school year in order to be eligible to receive and use the pair of student basketball tickets. Please note, these are STUDENT tickets and cannot be utilized by a non-UK student.
- Bluegrass Community and Technical College students are not eligible to submit designs.
- Only one design per student will be accepted.
- The shirt design must not feature more than four colors.
- The Traditions T will be a short-sleeve royal blue T-shirt.
- If you choose to incorporate official UK logos into your design, the Traditions T selection committee reserves the right to approve and/or alter the use of the logos.
- Entries may not contain any form of commercialism, political commentary, reference to another university, or inappropriate content.
- Designs should be focused on a broad range of appeal to students, alumni, and fans and should be appropriate for wear at a variety of athletic events (i.e. should not focus on just basketball or just football). Designs are encouraged to reinforce the pride and tradition of UK athletics.
- Designs can be submitted in .bmp, .eps, .jpg, .gif, .pdf, or .tif format and should be no larger than 11" wide by 12" tall.
- Designs can feature artwork for the front and/or back of the Traditions T.
- The winning designer will be notified in August 2009.
